FRENCH DOMINATE AT THE PEGASUS AIRLINES PWA WINDSURF WORLD CUP...
Organized by Sportworks, the Pegasus Airlines PWA Windsurf World Cup was concluded today at Myga Surf City, Alaçatı. With the participation of 64 Men and 19 Women windsurfers, the audience experienced a whole week of outstanding races!
Due to the unsufficient wind on the 14th and 15th, the results have been based on the 8 eliminations which took place from Monday until Thursday.
Preserving his first position since the beginning of the championship the 2008 World Speed Record Holder French Antoine Albeau, was again the champion of the Pegasus Airlines Cup.
Finian Maynard representing the British Virgin Islands finished in the second position and twelve times world champion Björn Dunkerbeck representing Switzerland finished in the third position. |

Pegasus Airlines World Cup: Approaching the Finals!
Organized by Sportworks, the Pegasus Airlines PWA Windsurf World Cup began on Monday, August 10th with the participation of 64 Men and 19 Women windsurfers at Myga Surf City, Alaçatı. The world’s best and fastest slalom windsurfers will be competing for the € 45,000 worth prize until Saturday, August 15th. The Pegasus Airlines PWA World Cup races were paused for the day due to the unsufficient wind. Until today, 8 eliminations were completed. On the final day of the event, the races will be continued according to the wind conditions. |
| Show TV broadcasted the daily Surf’n Sound special footage throughout the whole event. The broadcasts were scheduled as follows: from Tuesday to Friday at 18:55 and 23:25, on Saturday at 18:55 and 00:25, on Sunday at 18:55 and 23:10. |

The morning races finished at 13:15. After a short pause the 6th eliminations will begin at 14:10.

| Ghibaudo came first in the womens 5th eliminations. Sarah Hebert came 2nd, Sarah-Quita Offringa 3rd, Lena Aylin Erdil 4th and Çağla Kubat in the 6th place. |
| In the mens category Albeau keeps his first position, while Maynard comes in second place and Cyril Moussilmani in the third place. Young talent Enes Yılmazer finishes the 5th eliminations in 13th place. |

In the overall Pegasus Airlines PWA World Cup, the first places have been taken by Antoine Albeau and Valerie Ghibaudo. |

The fourth eliminations started at 15:15 and ended at 17:15. In the Slalom Men category, Micah Buzianis came first and in the Slalom Women category, Valerie Ghibaudo came first. |

The third elimination results are as follows: The 12 times winner of the PWA World Cup, Björn Dunkerbeck is in the first place, Antoine Albeau is in the second place, Josh Angulo in the third and Finian Maynard in the fourth place. |

| In the second elimination’s losers final, the first place was taken by PWA President Jimmy Diaz. Followed by Ben Van Der Steen and Ben Volwater. |
| Antoine Albeau once again finished in the first place at the second eliminations. Albeau is then followed by Kevin Pritchard in the second place and Micah Buzianis in the third. |
| Valerie Ghibaudo got back on track! The second eliminations ended with Ghibaudo in the first place, Offringa in the second, Hlavaty in the third and Çağla Kubat in the fourth places. |
On the second day of the World Cup, the second, third and fourth eliminations are taking place. |

In the day 1 finals Williams crossed the line in first, with Angulo literally a meter behind. Albeau took 3rd whilst Dunkerbeck stayed ahead of Maynard in 4th. |

In the Women’s category, Valerie Ghibaudo who leads the tour coming into Turkey was unlucky to finish the first day in 10 th place. Sarah Hebert was first, Alice Arutkin second, the 2008 World Champion Karin Jaggi 3rd and Çağla Kubat finished the day in the 4th position. |

At the day 1 semi-finals, the crowd wittnesses a tug of war between two Ducth racers Ben Van Der Steen and Peter Volwater. At the last minute speedster Ben Van Der Steen cut off Volwater. However, the loser’s finals saw Volwater make up for his previous failure and take the lead and victory. |

The Pegasus Airlines PWA Windsurf World Cup had a perfect start as Sarah Hebert and Ross Williams took the early advantage from day 1 by taking the first places in Womens and Mens categories. |

| During the first race local windsurfer Bora Kozanoğlu flew into the lead holding off legendary windsurfer Dunkerbeck. Enes Yılmazer was another Turkish windsurfer to stand out in the day 1 races. At only 18 years old, Enes is already the 2 times Youth World Champion. He is clearly one to watch for the future! |

Among these, Ertuğrul İçingir attended all of the PWA Slalom events of the 2009 Windsurf World Cup around the world. While, Çağla Kubat and Lena Aylin Erdil have attended the womens slalom contests in Ulsan, Korea and Catalunya-Costa Brava, Spain. |
