Celebrating its sixth year on August 2010, The Surf’n Sound Sports and Music Festival in association with the Pegasus Airlines PWA Windsurf World Cup presents 6 days of live music, action sports and beach parties held in Surfers’ Paradise, Alaçatı.

Being Turkey’s largest Sports and Music festival, Surf’n Sound, embodies the 6th stage of the Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) Windsurf World Cup in its agenda for the 4th time this year.

The history behind SURF’N SOUND

Surf’n Sound was created in 2005 by the leading Turkish sports marketing firm Sportworks. The festival was envisaged especially for Alaçatı where golden sand meets crystal clear sea and the inspiring wind. Surf’n Sound, witnessing the fantastic competition of the world’s legendary windsurfers became the most sought after and watched annual festival of Alaçatı also with its various activities and musical events.
In 2005, the organization embodied the Jim Beam International Funboard Class Association (IFCA) European Funboard Windsurf Championship along with the music & entertainment events.
In 2006, then again with Jim Beam’s title sponsorship, the IFCA Slalom World Championship and PWA Slalom 42 World Cup competitions were held within the organization.
From the following year until today, the 6th stage of the Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) Windsurf World Cup has been in the Sur’f n Sound agenda.

This festival is not only about surf, but it is also about sound and entertainment. Surf’n Sound gives a boost to Alaçatı’s lifestyle!

Apart from the windsurf contests, major music bands and DJ’s have performed throughout the history of the event. Mattafix, Swayzak, Manga, and the sound engineer of Beatles and Pink Floyd; Alan Parsons Project were among the performers who created great impact in the Alaçatı beaches. While dancing and listening to the great beat of the music, the Happy Hours organized after the daily races are for everybody’s own enjoyment.
The various activities such as tramboline, chance ball and Hillside Salsa Party are just the extra bit of needed entertainment that make Surf’n Sound an extraordinary event.
